The Princely Hotel

This former hotel has been abandoned since 1996 & throughout the building the decay is spreading at a rapid rate. Initially opened in 1902, the huge & distinctive ballroom was renovated to it's current design in the 1930's following a fire.

The ballroom is the notable centrepiece with its red ceiling and enormous chandeliers - the biggest I have seen. In fact, everything is a slightly larger scale than expected. The chandeliers themselves are impressive, unique & one of the most characterful motifs from Germany's lost places.

A really fun explore of a place I had wanted to visit for a long time. I'm glad I got the chance.
