Red Stripe Ballroom

The final round of locations on our 2020 road trip were the ballrooms. There were three on the list & first up was this tiny but really fun space with a stripey red design. A place like this could be easily ruined by graffiti but I think it has actually been enhanced by a thoughtful piece of artwork - a cartoon jazz band on the stage.

There was a stark reminder of the dangers of neglected buildings too, as there was a very loud crash whilst we took pictures but fortunately the part of the ceiling that fell down was not near anyone! With the exception of the giant hole in the floor, it looked like one of the more harmless locations & it just shows you always have to be wary.
