Mouse Bunker

The Mouse Bunker is a unapologetic Brutalist building that could easily have arrived from space. It is a bizarre looking animal testing lab that opened in 1982 having taken over ten years to build.

There is an ongoing debate about the demolition of the now defunct building. As always with Brutalist architecture, it divides the crowd. For me personally, I love Brutalist architecture for the boldness and for the stark atmosphere. But for that reason, I can also appreciate why a lot of people dislike it. However, as important as it is to move design forward, it is a pity to keep demolishing and erasing past styles.
