Beelitz Heilstätten (Alpenhaus)
2021 (Germany)
The Alpenhaus at Beelitz Heilstätten was the Women's Healing Clinic built in 1907 but was burnt down by the end of WW2. Apparently though, the black markings on the walls are from a film rather than the fire. Nature has really taken over the building a trees grow out of the missing roof.
A classic Beelitz building, it has long corridors with beautiful light. The main bathhouse is spectacular and vast in size (and great fun to shoot). One of the other main motifs comes from the Birdman image painted onto the stairwell by the renowned Berlin street artist Ken Plotbot. It's a fantastic image that truly fits the building.
